Senior Health Promotion Officer, Ministry of Health Fiji (Serving on the Secretariat for National Health Promotion Council, in advisory and project development personnel as part of the team in the areas of Nutrition, Tobacco Control & Substance Abuse, Mental Health, Research/ Also coordinating multi-Island projects in various areas of health: 1995 – 2001)
Development from scratch and implementation and ongoing input into comprehensive menu with recipes etc through a service contractor for Regional District Health Board ( from 2005 – 2018). This menu had 35 disease specific diet codes, were fully analysed to meet current nutritional requirements for specific diseases for 26 nutrients.
Development of the peri-operative nutritional protocol for elective patients for Northland District Health Board, New Zealand (2005). Still being used and recently updated by Prem Nand (in 2018). This ensures that when a patient comes to Surgical Admission Unit, he / she is given a diet plan and support to boost his / her immune system for a positive surgical outcome. Northland District Health Board was one of the first health board to put this process in place in New Zealand.
Development of Nutrition Protocol for Patients in Intensive Care Unit (2004). It is likely these have been updated.
Development of Menu / Recipe Guidelines for Meal Preparation / Daily Nutrient Requirements for Palliative Care Clients for North Haven Hospice, Whangarei, Northland. The aim of these guidelines were to the best quality of life of clients suffering from the following medical conditions: various forms of cancer, renal failure, pulmonary / lung failure, metabolic/neurological conditions.
Development and implementation of Nutritional Screening Tool for Patients in Surgical Wards who needed Dietetic input. (2002) This included training of nursing staff who were usually the first health professional to interact with patients.
Implementation of Texture Modified Guidelines to all the Aged Care Facilities In Northland (2004) and updating them too as the guidelines have changed.
Coordination of and development of resources for a three country Immunisation Educational Project (1999) in Fiji, This led to her  presenting her project on behalf of FIji to the Geneva WHO Medical Advisers.
Development of Evidence Based Nutrition Protocols for MN Clinics
Neuro Rehabilitation including Brain Injury, Mental Health, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, ADHD etc.
Gastro-intestinal Health; Including IBS, Diverticular Diseases etc.
Senior Nutrition: including nutrition for maintenance of muscle mass, prevention of age related weight loss, osteoporosis,cognitive function.
Physical Rehab: including healing of bodies wear and tear (of cartilage and tendons, as long as there is not a rupture of
the fibres).
Cardio-vascular, Diabetes and other metabolic diseases: this includes alleviation and / or reversal of Disease
processes at times. Prem Nand has had a few patients that have been taken of the Diabetes Register.
